A 135-foot statue of the Virgin of the Apocalypse that stands atop El Panecillo Hill in the center of the city of Quito, Ecuador, where the statue of Our Lady of Good Success also resides. The winged Virgin of the Apocalypse was first sculpted by 18th century artist Miquel Cabrera, who was called the 'Michelangelo of Mexico'. The statue represents "a Woman clothed in the sun, with the moon under feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars." After battling the dragon, the Virgin has trampled and subdued the beast with a silver chain that she holds loosely in her hands. It is the triumph of the Virgin over the Beast in the Latter Days. On the back of the holy card is the Little Crown of the Blessed Virgin Mary composed by St. Louis de Montfort.
